“How Budget Cuts Are Hurting UC Workers and Shortchanging UC Students”

Custodians, Food Service Workers, Clericals, Lecturers, Librarians, Researchers , GSIs and other staff will give personal accounts about how lay-offs and furloughs impacts them and their families. Also, they’ll talk about how these cuts means students are paying more and getting less in the services they used to provide.

The Townhall aims to be the foundation of why and how UC Berkeley can re-hire laid-off workers and end furloughs. It also seeks to build momentum for the larger state-wide efforts to end cuts and fee hikes, including the 3 day Strike and Solidarity Actions on November 18-20.

Sponsored by: SWAT, SWAT workers’ Caucus,
AFSCME 3299, CUE Local #3 (more to come)
